Who is Rose Caplette?

A truly native Montanan, Rose brings an instinctive gift for dynamic color
combinations to her rugs. Maybe somewhere in her DNA female ancestors
from her Crow Indian heritage help her out: Crow beadwork uses vibrant
juxtapositions of color for dramatic designs. Maybe being "other-abled" --
Rose is an adult with Down's Syndrome -- gives her the ability to be truly
intuitive in her work. Either way, the rug you adopt is truly a one-of-a-
kind creation.
"I like being an artist because I'm very creative and I pick out great
    colors.

First I have to cut or rip all the fabric in to strips, tie those
together, then roll them in to a ball. When I have several balls of
fabric ready, I go back and find the colors I want to start with.

I like to start with a bright color.  Then I just go from there."

Rose is 27 and has been making rugs for two years. Sometimes she stays
up half the night working on a rug.  Her dog Conner keeps her company
while she crochets. She says she just knows when a rug is done.

In 2008, Rose trained in the BodyTalk™ system of healthcare and is
studying to be a practitioner. She and her mother, Jenna, offer sessions
together. Jenna is a Certified BodyTalk™ practitioner. Rose is a member of
the International BodyTalk Association, the Indian Arts and Crafts Association, and a Special Olympian.

Once a year, usually in the winter, Rose and her mom teach rug-making
for Bozeman's Community Education program.
